Action Figure Drama: Luke and the Wampa

“Making of” Luke & Wampa

At a later time I’ll come back and provide more information about the specific toys in my collection that I’ve included in these images. I’ll have to look up details that I don’t know off the top of my head about specific versions of each figure.

I have multiple versions in my collection of Luke and Han in their Hoth gear, as well as multiple versions of the Wampa and Tauntaun, spanning from the 1980s to the 2010s. I used a Tauntaun from the 80s for the image of Han putting Luke in the belly of the Tauntaun. That was the only Tauntaun that was made for that, AFAIK, in the 3.75 figure line. I used a newer version of the Tauntaun for images of Han and Luke riding, and for the Wampa dragging and eating the dead Tauntaun. I have 4 Wampas in my collection, only one of them comes with blood on the chin, a detachable arm, and slab of meat. He’s the one featured here.

I used components from 3 Hoth playsets to the produce the images. The Ice Cave was the more recently produced one, if that’s not obvious. The scenes that include ice, outside the cave, come by way of the 1980s Hoth Imperial Attack Base, and the Hoth Turret and Probot playset. I’ll need to check the date on the Ben Kenobi Force Ghost figure. I used images on my laptop to produce a snow and ice background, as seen in the “making of” image below. I’ll post more detailed data about each of the figures featured here as I go back and research it. I believe I originally took these photos in 2018. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
